We're just about to jump in and start revamping News Hit. By this time next week we're hoping to have the site's structure, layout and design completely overhauled.

The first phase of the News Hit redesign will be a revision of its structure. Instead of grouping the site together in main sections (Features, Commentary, Entertainment, Lifestyle, etc) which lead into sub-sections (i.e. Entertainment > Movies, Music, TV, Books, Games) we are going to make each of the main subsections into their own section and discard the old sections altogether. That way, navigation will be cut down and you will be able to travel straight to your favourite area of the site with ease.

Rather than dispersing certain editors across the old sections, each of the new sections will be overseen by one or two editors. The editors will have also have more freedom to stamp their own personalities onto their section of News Hit.

The news blog is going to be wound down, and its posts merged in with the other sections. 

Columns will remain how they are for now, but will also be undergoing an exciting new upgrade.

We'll keep you posted on all the changes to News Hit as they come.
